It’s been a pretty crazy couple of weeks with some massive life changes going on, hence why there was no Business-Minded issue last week and why this week’s newsletter is a little light on the recommendations.

I’m writing this parked up in the only cafe I could find open at 6am ahead of a panel I’m speaking on at 7.15am. The panel is about how different generations interact in the workplace, and it got me thinking about my experiences both in my business and in corporate - and what it is that made me successful in each.

In the early days of my digital marketing agency, there were many times I made all these big exciting suggestions to clients on all the cool things we could do in their business, only to find down the line that it wasn't what the business should have been focused on. 💡

Similarly, I've seen plenty of new hires come into a business and instantly pioneer a big-ticket initiative such as a rebrand, a CRM, or a new website, only to have it drag on significantly and not go to plan.
